The first public Piano Portrait dialogue evening was such a blast, we are doing it again. Come join. 7-930pm. August 27, and September 24. How it works is this: Bring a "hot topic" you've been contemplating recently. We'll do a quick check-in, the group will pick which topic feels fun for the evening, and run with that. At some point Andrew will be ready to play what the piano has to say in relation the topic being discussed. In short, it's a "portrait" of the room and the collective conversation present.
Then we'll together share thoughts related to the music just played or whatever really. At some point we'll take a break.
It’s an evening offering fun, connection, music and insights. Do join and add your voice!
【策畫者介紹/About Andrew and Jane】
Pianist
Andrew Page is the kind of pianist who can be in the midst of a conversation, make the comment "you know, there are 4 types of rain," then move over to the piano and start to articulate the 4 types by playing them. He's a classical and jazz pianist with rich performing experience on big and small stages who works with people using piano and music as a way to express things that words can not. He graduated from North Texas University with a degree in jazz studies performance, and has a Masters from Queens College, New York, in classical piano performance. For the last 8 years he's been working with others around the piano in Taiwan and Asia, first as the Musical Director at the American Club in Taipei, and now working independently with Piano Portraits, coaching transformative piano to people of all ages and levels of musicality. He also writes, produces and arranges songs for Taiwan and China-based artists.
Facilitator
Jane Lewis designs and facilitates processes that allow people to actively participate in what they love. She's a Dynamic Stillness Craniosacral practitioner, and a group facilitator intrigued by stillness and the body's wisdom.
